Chase Elliott (born November 28, 1995) is a development driver for Hendrick Motorsports. He currently drives the #9 Aaron's/Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for his family team with backing from Hendrick.[1] He is the son of 1989 Sprint Cup Series champion Bill Elliott.
Elliott raced in 40 races various series in 2010, winning 12 times and finished 38 times in the Top 10.[2] It was the third season of his racing career, and he won the Blizzard Series, Miller Lite and Gulf Coast championship enroute to being named the Georgia Asphalt Pro Late Model Series Rookie of the Year.[2] He ended the season by winning the Winchester 400.[2]
Elliott signed a three-year driver development contract with Hendrick Motorsports in February 2011.[2] Sports Illustrated named Elliott as the high school player of the week on the week of April 2011.[2] Later that year, just after his sixteenth birthday, he won the Snowball Derby and became the race's youngest winner.[3] He beat the second place driver by a record 0.229 seconds.[4]
